Earlier this summer Marvel did what was once unimaginable. They released Avengers: Infinity War – their 19th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which was built upon all of the movies that came before it.
Before next years still untitled follow up to Infinity War I wanted to do a Marvel Cinematic Universe rewatch and revisit all 20 movies so far. Another inspiration point for this endeavor was listening to The Incomparable’s Summer of Marvel podcast series (starting at episode 413) where a rotating panel of guests watched all of the movies and discussed them.
I’m going to break these posts out by Marvel’s “phases” to make them a bit easier to read, and more honestly, make it easier on me to watch and write about.
Phase 1 will cover Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers.
Phase 2 will cover Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man.
Phase 3 will cover Captain American: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Needless to say, I am a comic book fan and I love these movies. Even the bad ones, which the MCU has a few. At the end of the third post I’ll have my ranking of the movies from one to 20.
These posts will start to roll out over the next few weeks.
