Here’s the wrap up for all of the movies, TV, music and other media I consumed in September that I thought was worth sharing.
Movies
Between Two Ferns: The Movie – What a ridiculous movie, but so funny. The plot isn’t anything deep or interesting, but like with the Internet show, it’s all about the interviews. Definitely check it out for a lot of laughs, including the blooper reel. There are also extended cuts of interviews on YouTube from David Letterman, Ben
Ad Astra – This was a strange movie. It was like someone was trying to cross Apocalypse Now with 2001: A Space Odyssey and didn’t really hit either mark. I mean, I enjoyed it, but it’s not something I’d probably ever watch again.
TV
The Office – I’ve been wanting to rewatch this show before it left Netflix forever, and what a treat it was to revisit the Dunder Mifflin crew and these characters again. Some of the (few) gripes I had about the show are still there but they have lessened over the years. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite shows
Fleabag (S1-2) – This Amazon show has been on our list for a while, but we decided to pick it up after it won a ton of Emmys earlier this month. It’s really funny and very easy to watch (both seasons combined clock in under 6 hours). I love the fourth wall breaks that this show does. It’s a little more obvious and direct than when Jim does it in The Office and is meant to play more for laughs and for Phoebe Waller-Bridge to give her internal monologue to the viewers.

Podcasts
Somehow I Manage – While we rewatched The Office I read an article that said that Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey were going to start a podcast about The Office, and I was excited. So excited that it made me go see if there were any other podcasts about the show, and I found one and have been listening through the episodes. I mostly like it, but I think it’s because of my love for The Office and it’s so fresh in my mind after the rewatch. I think as soon as I catch up to their current show I’ll like it a little more once I’m only listening to it once a week.
